The poem below came to me after watching multi-talented Julie
Andrews receive the AFI Lifetime Achievement Award on TCM a couple of nights
ago.
Ode
to Julie Andrews
Her
lovely voice raised to the sky
in “Sound of Music” and that’s why
we
all then knew what she could do.
Fans took to her like Elmer’s glue.
In
“Mary Poppins” she was great.
Motion
pictures became her fate.
And
besides singing, she could dance.
How
about acting? She took the chance.
Now
we love her and her career.
A treasure she is – one so dear!
