Bolt's Big Surprise

I absolutely loved BOLT, mostly because of its three very unique animated stars -- an unusual white canine named Bolt who thinks he’s got superpowers, a sarcastic street-wise black cat named Mittens, and a wildly energetic hamster named Rhino who idolizes Bolt and travels around in a see-through plastic ball.

These three must journey from New York to Hollywood to make sure Bolt gets back to Penny, the girl he saves in all his TV and film adventures, which he assumed were real. Along the way, lots of exciting and humorous things happen to the trio as Bolt discovers he doesn’t have superpowers after all -- but he’s found something more important, two loyal friends.

The voices of John Travolta, Miley Cyrus, Susie Essman and Mark Walton fit these characters perfectly. BOLT gets my vote as one of the best animated films of the year. It’s a highly entertaining film for both children and adults.
