What Is a Poem?

 

Rhythm and rhyme,

words keeping time

out of their cage

onto the page,

buzzing like bees

in lines like these.

 

 

Finding spaces,

scents and places,

longings and fears,

laughter and tears,

a poem must say,

 “Come live today!”
