Sorry, Mr. Spielberg

Throw in all the horrifying aliens, terrified crowds, blood-drenched countrysides, crumbling buildings, amazing set pieces and eye-popping special effects you want -- but if the behavior of human characters comes across as illogical and unreal, a sci-fi film doesn’t work for me. Such is the case with "War of the Worlds," Steven Spielberg’s expensive adaptation of H G. Wells’ classic novel.
