Miss Lafalot Makes My Day!

That loud noise you hear is me laughing with joy, for I’ve just heard that Miss Lafalot will be returning to BlogTalkRadio soon with her wonderful show, "Four Directions Laugh Radio." I’ve missed this fun, inspirational pick-me-up and can hardly wait to “deep breathe, stretch, play and laugh” with Miss Lafalot and friends again.

Miss Lafalot, whose laughter is very contagious, wants to spread love and kindness throughout the world. During one of her creative visualization exercises, she asks listeners to “imagine a big smile coming from the earth.” And I love it when she reminds us, “If we practice loving behavior, a whole lot of things open up for us.”

It would be difficult to pick a favorite Four Directions episode, for whenever I tune into Miss Lafalot’s show, it makes my day. (Check out the archived segments at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/misslafalot.)

“Laugh for the health of it,” or “Even laugh for no reason at all,” Miss Lafalot says – and with that permission, I feel free of any negative energy that’s dragging me down. As a Certified Laughter Yoga Leader, Miss Lafalot knows how important laughter can be as a natural way to combat stress and relieve pain. Her sweet, breezy delivery combined with the training she’s received results in a show filled with humor, knowledge, heart and soul. Welcome back, Miss Lafalot!

Thora Birch: In Person at 'Ghost World' Tribute

How I wish I could be in San Diego this weekend! In conjunction with Reading Cinemas and Fantagraphics Books, the San Diego Film Critics Society will celebrate the 10th anniversary of Terry Zwigoff’s 2001 film Ghost World with a 35 mm screening at 9 p.m., Saturday, July 23, at Reading Gaslamp Cinemas in downtown San Diego. The screening will take place during Comic-Con, the world’s largest comic book and pop culture convention. Tickets for the event are only $5, and Comic-Con badges are not required.

Upon its release, the San Diego Film Critics Society awarded Ghost World with Best Picture honors at the end of the year, and gave Zwigoff its annual Best Director award. The film also earned Zwigoff and Clowes a Best Adapted Screenplay award, and lead actress Thora Birch was named Best Actress.

Thora Birch and several members of the San Diego Film Critics Society will be on hand for the screening and will host a discussion after the movie. Reading Gaslamp Cinemas is located at 701 5th Avenue, San Diego, CA, 92101. Tickets will be available when the box office opens on Saturday, July 23.

This should be an amazing evening for movie fans!
