Not for Lucille Ball Fans

  After watching "Being the Ricardos," I couldn't sleep, so I wrote this poem instead. 

Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz,

a couple with showbiz pizzaz,

are depicted in this movie

that’s not a film easy to see.

 

Though too miscast to pass the test,

two splendid actors do their best

Kidman and Bardem try hard.

But miss the boat by a long yard.

 

To cover this, the scenes are blurred.

Fuzzy faces my anger stirred.

I still love Lucy, after all.

Her comedy talent does not fall.  

 

Don’t look for laughs in this picture.

No chuckles here, and that’s for sure.

Strictly drama at what expense?

A film like this seems an offense.

Saddened to hear that Betty White passed away just two weeks before her 100^th birthday.

 

Ode to Betty White

 

Betty White always made us smile.

Been doing that for quite a while.

Entertainer extraordinaire.

TV, movies and everywhere.

 

Lucky us to enjoy her fun.

It will live on, for she’s not done.

Lasting comedy we can see.

So she’ll live on in history.
