Muppet Time

It’s time for Muppet mania.

It’s time to have some fun.

It’s time to thank the Muppets

for everything they’ve done.

As an avid Muppet fan, I’m so happy they have a new film opening on the day before Thanksgiving this year. To honor these iconic entertainers, Movie Addict Headquarters will be presenting an original “Muppet Mania” skit on BlogTalkRadio next Tuesday (November 22). The skit features Kermit and Miss Piggy discussing their latest movie roles. Plus fans -- including Morgan Lawrence, Danielle Dyer and Nikki Starr -- will be sharing their picks for favorite Muppet characters, Muppet movies and Muppet TV episodes.

Listen to “Muppet Mania” by going to the link below on or after November 22, 2011.

Old Trial, Timely Topic

Discerning movie fans will be interested to know that Alleged, a new film about the Scopes Monkey Trial, is being released November 8 on DVD. This landmark trial took place in 1925 and involved two famous attorneys who argued creationism and evolutionism. Veteran actors Fred Thompson and Brian Dennehy play the competing attorneys, William Jennings Bryan and Clarence Darrow, respectively.

Alleged comes across as much more low-key than Inherit the Wind, Stanley Kramer’s 1960 movie starring Frederic March and Spencer Tracy as the famous lawyers.

Because these movies deliver different – but provocative – versions of the same event, what a great double feature they would make!

Derek Hough: In the Zone Again

I think “Dancing with the Stars” should change its name to “Dancing with Derek.” This dedicated dancer always amazes me with his extraordinary talent -- and he’s really making up now for taking last season off. Lucky Ricki Lake, his current partner in this season’s competition! She is already a frontrunner because of Derek’s creative choreography, impeccable technique and caring instruction. Ricki definitely seems to be blossoming as a result of being with Derek.

Their dramatic “Red Riding Hood and the Wolf” paso doble and intense “Psycho” tango are among the best routines ever performed on this popular TV series.

Welcome back, Derek!
