Time for Rocky Horror Again

On October 7, award-winning actor Barry Bostwick reminisces about The Rocky Horror Picture Show in the annual Movie Addict HQ tribute to that bizarre cult classic. Bostwick speaks candidly about his experiences connected with the film -- including weather problems, what it was like working with Susan Sarandon, his favorite scene in the movie, and much more.

Bostwick has appeared in over 100 films and television productions. He may be best-known as the clueless mayor on Spin City. However, he’s a triple-threat entertainer -- singer, dancer, actor -- who created the role of Danny Zuko in Grease on Broadway and won a Tony for his work in The Robber Bridegroom. He’s appeared in such TV programs as Cougar Town, Glee, Scrubs, Law & Order Special Victims Unit, Las Vegas, George Washington, and War and Remembrance (for which he earned a Golden Globe). Among Bostwick’s numerous movies are: Movie Movie; 101 Dalmatians II; Spy Hard; Some Guy Who Kills People; and FDR: American Badass!  His upcoming films include Slay Bells, a horror flick in which he portrays Santa, as well as a comedy titled Diani & Devine Meet the Apocalypse.

Surprisingly, Rocky Horror bombed when it first opened in 1975, but those entertaining midnight showings soon catapulted the film into cult status. Sarandon admits that of all her movies, this is the one that should be placed in a time capsule. And the film got a big boost when TV’s Glee featured its own version of the musical numbers. That episode became the most popular one of the series.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show Bash” airs on BlogTalkRadio at 4 p.m. Eastern Time (1 p.m. Pacific Time) on Tuesday, October 7, 2014. During the live show, listeners are invited to participate in a chat. An archived segment will also be available.

Barry Bostwick on Movie Addict HQ

Award-winning actor Barry Bostwick visits Movie Addict Headquarters on September 25 for a discussion about starring in FDR: American Badass. In this slapstick comedy, Bostwick portrays the 32nd U.S. President as a werewolf killer who rides around in a “wheelchair of death” while stopping werewolves carrying the polio virus (!). Bostwick may be best-known as the clueless mayor on Spin City or as Susan Sarandon’s naïve boyfriend in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. However, he’s a triple-threat entertainer -- singer, dancer, actor -- who created the role of Danny Zuko in Grease on Broadway, won a Tony for his work in The Robber Bridegroom and a Golden Globe for his performance in War and Remembrance. Listen to Barry's interview next Tuesday by clicking on the link below.  http://www.blogtalkradio.com/movieaddictheadquarters/2012/09/25/barry-bostwick-returns

Barry Bostwick Kicks Off Horror Month

I’m happy to report that actor Barry Bostwick has agreed to drop by “Movie Addict Headquarters” on BlogTalkRadio to help me usher in a series of programs about horror movies scheduled during the month of October. On October 2, Bostwick will discuss his experiences as one of the stars of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” the bizarre 1975 musical that became a cult classic.

With over 80 film and television performances to his credit, Bostwick may be best-known as the clueless mayor on “Spin City.” However, he’s a triple-threat entertainer – singer, dancer, actor – who created the role of Danny Zuko in “Grease” on Broadway and won a Tony for his work in “The Robber Bridegroom”. He’s appeared in such TV programs as “Scrubs,” “Law & Order Special Victims Unit,” “Las Vegas”, and the mini-series “George Washington” (playing the title character). Bostwick earned a Golden Globe as Best Supporing Actor in the "War and Remembrance"miniseries and is also a frequent host of PBS’s “A Capitol Fourth.” His most recent movies are “Evening” and “Nancy Drew.”

To hear Barry Bostwick live on “Movie Addict Headquarters,” click on http://www.blogtalkradio.com/movieaddictheadquarters at 4 p.m. Eastern Time, Tuesday, October 2. The program will also be available later as an archived segment.

Additional upcoming MAHQ offerings during October include: an interview with Rosemary Gore, the actress famous for her portrayal of Alice Walker in "Fear of the Dark" as well as for her work in the quirky "Baby Doll" short film; a discussion of the very scary "28 Weeks Later" plus other zombie films; and some exciting “horror” surprises.
