Get ready for Star Wars: The Force Awakens by listening to Movie Addict Headquarters on December 15. That’s when  Mark Clark drops by to talk about his fascinating book, Star Wars FAQ: Everything Left To Know about the Trilogy That Changed the Movies. Mark is an author and film historian who writes about classic movies and TV shows. His latest book tells a story as thrilling and action-packed as the movies themselves, with bold characters facing apparently insurmountable odds. It’s full of frantic chases, narrow escapes, daring victories and tragic setbacks culminating in an unlikely triumph that changed the course of the galaxy -- or at least Hollywood.  

    

Mark’s previous works include Sixties Shockers: A Critical Filmography of Horror Cinema as well as books about Star Trek and essays for Science Fiction America: Essays on Sci-Fi Cinema. He is a graduate of the University of Louisville and a former film critic for the Louisville Courier-Journal.

Congratulations, Cloris Leachman!

What a great time I had this Tuesday at the Movie Addict Headquarters SEVENTH ANNIVERSARY PARTY on BlogTalkRadio! We played clips of famous guests, talked about favorite shows, and announced a book-giveaway drawing.  Joining the festivities were: Mad Movie Man A.J. Hakari, Mr. Show Biz George Bettinger, film historian James Colt Harrison and Classic Film Guide founder Diana Saenger. Remembering Gilda Radner

Gilda Radner is one of my all-time favorite funny ladies, so it was a pleasure to host Gilda Radner Remembered on BlogTalkRadio yesterday. Guests joining in this special tribute included: Lily Safani, CEO of Gilda's Club in New York City; comedian Nancy Lombardo from Comedy Concepts; and film critic A.J. Hakari, also known as The Mad Movie Man. Lily shared important information about how the Gilda's Club supports people suffering from cancer -- and also talked about "The Gildies, a benefit program taking place in New York on Thursday. Nancy, who's been on Saturday Night Live herself, made us laugh with her imitation of Emily Litella, one of Gilda's famous characters, as well as her comments about Gilda's extraordinary talent. A.J. gave his opinion Haunted Honeymoon, one of Gilda's films, and I reviewed First Family, Hanky Panky and The Woman in Red, three other movies Gilda appeared in. Movie Addict Headquarters pokes fun at almost everything on film during a special April Fool episode scheduled for Tuesday, April 3. Film critic A.J. Hakari, the Mad Movie Man, drops by to talk about mockumentaries, spoof films, Mystery Science Theater, and other cinema nonsense. New York-based comedian Nancy Lombardo has also been invited to join in the fun.
